Tuesday's TETONS

Well I am trying to catch up on my Tuesday's "T" Challenges and this week the word was Tetons. I had the privilege several years ago to travel out west visiting (or should I say riding in the car hearing "Did you see that?").  Yes it was an interesting trip in that I had never before been out west or out of the state of Texas until then. the farthest I had been was Ft. Worth, Texas! Nothing like being a small town girl from East Teas!

Although this really was a driving trip with very little stopping or side trips I do remember the mountains to be very majestic and royal looking. There is something about viewing the mountains that make you realize your place in life. The Lord made such beauty when He made the mountains because it is very difficult to describe in words the humble feelings I had when I first saw them.

I have no pictures to share of the experience but would love the opportunity to return.

Join us in the fun of Tuesday's T Challenge!!

Tuesday's "TOOLS"

Well I am a bit slow these days why I couldn't really say. Found Round and About's challenge last Tuesday was "Tools" so I have to say my "Temptations" are my tools to accomplish my fine art. Since using graphite and colored pencil I have had to reacquaint myself with tools to "get 'er done" so to speak. I have had many hours getting to know my tools and how they work for me and I love it!! With my tremor I have discovered that using wood pencils are harder for me to get the darks I want and the finest of detail so by switching to Graph Gear mechanical pencils (which are a little heavier) I am able to accomplish my goal.

Here are a couple of examples of my work with my "tools"

Tuesday's "Tweet"

This week Tuesday's word "Tweet" took some thought because I live on the lake where there are all kind of birds around each day. It is very easy to just not pay attention to sounds that you are accustomed to hearing all the time you ignore them.  But on one of my daily dog walks a Mocking bird was making quite a noise in a tree. I looked up to see that she already had her nest made, which she was very proud of, letting me and the world know that little birds would soon be arriving at her house. I even told her good morning and that I was glad to see that she was prepared for her little ones.

Last year a bird made a nest in a fruit tree outside our office window so I was able to watch the nest being built, next came three beautiful eggs and then three little ones tweeting announcing their arrival to the neighborhood.

I am looking forward to finding more nests around our yard this spring.  I hope you can join us with the Tuesday "T" Challenge by Found Round & About.

Tuesday's THAT

I am enjoying Found Round and About's weekly "T" challenges always posted on Tuesday. I have to afmit it takes me a few days to respond so for this Tuesday's THAT I have to say almost stumped me. So I thought about my art and several pieces came to mind; "Laura" was my first BIG drawing. When I started taking drawing classes from Maureen Killaby this work was to be done in an 18" X 24" format and my first thought was "I can't do THAT"! But with encouragement from Maureen I was able to complete "Laura" dark enough and with curly hair!

Since this drawing I have had several projects after I had completed them I felt like telling the world I did THAT! One project I did that drew a compliment from my husband was starting this blog. Since I have Essential Tremor it requires a lot of concentration, patience, postive thinking and a great support group. My support group consists of my loving husband, daughters, sons, East Texas ET Support Group, Sunday school class, my FB friends, drawing teacher and our two Jack Russell Terriors. ET requires having a good support group. So I feel I have made a start in the direction that the Lord wants me to go and THAT feels good!
Until next Tuesday when we get a new challenge! Have some fun join the Tuesday "T" challenge!
