CORKS AND CROWNS

This is the last of a series of paintings I did of friends and myself while we vacationed in Martha's Vineyard together. For five years we would gather to spend a week at "the cabin" that was in the family of one of the ladies. We came from Florida, North Carolina, California, and Texas so it was quite a combination!

We had lots of fun, solved the worlds problems, and watched the World Trade Centers come crashing down on a black and white TV which changed everyone's world in the United States of America forever.

This is 5" x 7" on Stonehenge paper, Polychromo, Pablo pencils. My reference.

SON HOLD MY HAND

This is an 8" x 10" graphite commission done as a surprise for the father on Father's Day. This is a picture taken of his newborn son holding his hand. Reference photo provided by client.

Needless to say the father was very surprised and thankful! Makes our work all the more rewarding!

AN HONOR TO BE INCLUDED

It is certainly an honor to be included in Ann Kullberg's CP Treasures IV! Over 800 entries from all over the world and only 120 entries were accepted for publication!  You may purchase the book at AnnKullberg.com plus past copies of her magazine and drawing kits to get started with colored pencil!

IT IS GOING TO BE OKAY MOTHER

This is a piece I worked on a few years ago using Graphite and white Conte, size is 8"x 10" on Tan Matte Board. I found the subject very moving so I tried free hand drawing this. The work was before my Essential Tremor became bad enough to have Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. I hope you enjoy my work and make your own story.

DEAR TO MY HEART

I would like to share my latest work titled DEAR TO MY HEART because it is a picture of our female Jack Russell Abbye. She was 14 years, 7 months, and 11 days old when she crossed that rainbow bridge. This drawing is taken from when she was in her feisty, squirrel chasing days and that is how she will be remembered. Her last squirrel conquest which she was so proud of was brought to the front door of our home and proudly placed on the doormat while she proceeded to announce to us her prize  and wanted us to see.

HONORED TO BE IN ANN KULLBERG'S OCTOBER COLOR MAGAZINE

I feel very honored to be in the "Spotlight" section of Ann Kullberg's October 2015 COLOR a colored pencil magazine!  The link to the magazine is:  http://annkullberg.com/collections/cp-magazine-2013-issues

I have tried to take on my journey of my art while  living with Essential Tremor, in this article Ann does a beautiful job of telling my story. Thank you for telling my story so well. I feel that God has given me a gift of my painting so I could be a witness for him. Through him all things are possible.

ALL THINGS ARE BEAUTIFUL

I don't usually take commissions because they take me so long and most of all I am always nervous as to whether the person commissioning the art will be happy with the finished piece. So when my friend showed me a picture of her daughter on a very special horse I could not resist the challenge. Her daughter was so short she couldn't even reach the stirrups with her feet! Another part of the challenge was I had never done a horse in colored pencil. Can you tell I love a challenge? Yes the horse is HUGE.

The reference photo was given to me by my friend. The picture is 18x20 on Strathmore with Polochromo, Pablo and Lumance colored pencils.
